Course Description:

Water-Related Emergencies is a comprehensive 2-hour course designed for EMS Providers to enhance their understanding and skills in managing water-related emergencies. This course covers the assessment, treatment, and management of various water-related emergencies, such as hypothermia, drowning, near-drowning, and diving emergencies.

 

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify and assess various types of water-related emergencies, including hypothermia, drowning, near-drowning, and diving emergencies.
  2. Implement appropriate treatment and management strategies for patients experiencing water-related emergencies.
  3. Understand the physiological aspects of water-related emergencies, such as the mammalian dive reflex, and their implications for patient care.
  4. Communicate effectively and collaborate with other stakeholders during water-related emergencies.
  5. Promote water safety and prevention strategies within their communities.
